STOP EATING GLUTEN? WHY

APRIL-  started getting physically sick, first noticeable 'crash' and inability to function.
JUNE-  went to my family doctor.  started tests.  (shakes,  losing weight, frequent headaches, brain fog, eye problems, etc.) Went gluten-free at the end of the month, cold turkey!!!
JULY-  Initial feel better, begin to lose weight again.  E.R.!  Severe abdominal and lower back pain...cause was never determined.
AUGUST-  Tests, tests and more tests!!!  no work, increased brain fog, no more dairy (strict diet), muscular stress, adrenal fatigue, short term memory loss.
SEPTEMBER-  Still no work, tests still say normal, but doc says see Endocrinologist for symptoms, Endo doc does 2 test sets...all normal, onto neurologists (probable ataxia)

Wanted to start with my story so others can add comments and stories to help add to the list of resources for people.  I want others to have a source for info on gluten/celiac disease.  The idea is to give people a spectrum of what it can and has done over time and maybe save people the trouble of running from doctor to doctor.  It is simple to eliminate gluten to determine if it is the cause, so please, if you think you may have an issue with gluten, PLEASE take it seriously, you never know how it may be affecting you.

Please comment or ask questions if need be, if I cannot answer, maybe someone on here can.

This is going ot be an interesting blog. :) I am glad that you were able to get help as early on as you did. With things like this it is hard to get "traditional medicine" to want to look outside the box. :) You are all in my prayers.

I actually know a few people who have celiac disease....one woman goes to our parish! Sounds like there are still a lot of mysteries surrounding your health, I pray everything gets better!

I've been dealing with a severe health problem since my 2nd child was born. I went to the Emergency Room a few times (once by ambulance), I started having panic attacks, saw my allergist, family practice doctors, psychiatrist. Almost everyone was scratching their heads, and I finally saw a Naturopathic doctor. I'm not far from New Hampshire where they are licensed by the state, so I went there, and she has helped me SOOOO much.

Whenever someone tells me that they have some mysterious illness the doctors have trouble sorting through, I always recommend a naturopathic doctor.
